Sae Rome earned her bachelor's degree in chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, where she was introduced to research in drug delivery, biomaterials, and microfluidics under the mentorship of Dr. Pinar Zorlutuna. She then pursued a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University under Dr. Bumsoo Han where her research was focused on engineering microphysiological systems for translational medicine. Outside the lab, she enjoys playing tennis, brewing coffee, and traveling.
