Joy Agus was born in the Philippines and moved to the US at age 7. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Arizona State University, where she conducted research on nanoscale contrast agents to develop photoacoustic nanosensors for real-time, in vivo imaging of neurological systems. Joy applies her expertise to ongoing research in the Bose Lab involving bioelectronic devices and animal models. Outside the lab, she enjoys teaching music and vocal technique, and works closely with church choirs and aspiring organists.
